
Amelanchier laevis (Allegheny Serviceberry)
Habit
An upright small tree or large shrub, Allegheny Serviceberry grows 15-25 feet tall and is a wonderful native plant. Great for massing, grouping, or within woodland plantings.
Color
Leaves are a purplish bronze and white flowers appear in early spring much like Shadblow Serviceberry. Black fruits are edible and mature in summer.
Culture
Much like other serviceberries: will tolerate a wide range of conditions and growing environments. Full sun or part shade.
