Rhus aromatica ‘Lo Grow’ (Grow Low Aromatic Sumac)
Habit
Gro-Low is a special cultivar of the straight species of Fragrant Sumac. It’s a low growing spreading shrub that can be used as a native groundcover. Grows to about 2 feet high and 6-8 feet wide. Plant a few of these correctly spaced out and watch them take over. They sucker from roots and spread rapidly, especially in good soil. Great for stabilizing banks, massing, groundcover, or controlling erosion.
Color
Beautiful bluish-green trifoliate leaves turning to colors of orange, red, and purple in the fall.
Culture
Very adaptable and can be used just about anywhere. Does best in moist soils but vigorous and hardy in most places. Full sun or part shade.
