Did you know we contract grow? We do! In fact, we are just wrapping up a contract that has been super successful for us and our client – Let us tell you a little bit about the process and the reasoning / necessity behind it…

Our client has been working on a reforestation project for about 5 years. A ton of planning (and a ton of trees) go into a project like this. With over 100 acres needing to be planted, they became discouraged by the quality and survival rate of the plant material they were receiving. “We need these plants to LIVE” is what they said when they first approached us.

Often, the planting material used in reforestation projects are small whips – sometimes bareroot – and only a percentage is expected to survive (usually not a high percentage!) While planting whips may have seemed economical at the beginning of the project, when they began replanting, they quickly realized they would have been better off planting a container-grown tree one time vs. buying in replacement whips and spending more money and time – and anticipating the same sub-par results.
