Wholesale Native Trees & Shrubs in New Jersey
About Us
Clear Ridge Nursery, Inc. is a women-owned and family-operated wholesale nursery that sells to landscape contractors, nurseries, conservation, and other non-profit organizations and government agencies under specific Terms and Conditions. Clear Ridge Nursery was formally established in 1994, starting with a small inventory of 18 species and 20,000 plants in 1-2 gallon containers. We are located in Carroll County, Maryland.
Over the last 25 years, we have expanded our inventory to over 70 species of native and ornamental trees and shrubs with an inventory of 350,000 plants in 2, 3, 5, 7, 10, and 15-gallon container sizes. We are a wholesale nursery and are MBE/DBE certified in Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, New Jersey, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and the City of Philadelphia, as well as several individual counties in Maryland.
We’re proud of all the progress we’ve made in New Jersey, particularly our recent accomplishments like Wemrock Senior Living Apartments in Freehold. In addition to that, we have experience with various reforestation projects (16 and counting!) across the state as a result of our horticultural skills and knowledge. The replanting of Route 72 in Manahawkin, NJ was another project where our items were utilized. We’re excited to continue working with New Jersey on future endeavors.

About New Jersey
New Jersey is a northeastern U.S. state with some 130 miles of Atlantic coast. Jersey City, across the Hudson River from Lower Manhattan, is the site of Liberty State Park, where ferries embark for nearby Ellis Island, with its historic Immigration Museum, and the iconic Statue of Liberty. The Jersey Shore includes notable resort towns like historic Asbury Park and Cape May, with its preserved Victorian buildings.
The colonial history of New Jersey started after Henry Hudson sailed through Newark Bay in 1609. Although Hudson was British, he worked for the Netherlands, so he claimed the land for the Dutch. It was called New Netherlands.
In 1664 the Dutch lost New Netherlands when the British took control of the land and added it to their colonies. They divided the land in half and gave control to two proprietors: Sir George Carteret (who was in charge of the east side) and Lord John Berkley (who was in charge of the west side). The land was officially named New Jersey after the Isle of Jersey in the English Channel.
New Jersey is one of the wealthiest states in the U.S., with the second highest median household income in 2017. Almost one-tenth of all households, or over 323,000 of 3.3 million, are millionaires, the highest rate per capita in the country.
