Habit
Chinkapin Oak is a large overstory tree that grows to about 40-50 feet tall. A great tree to use as a single specimen or in a naturalized plantings. Definitely an attractive tree that should be treasured if native in your landscape.
Color
Leaves turn shades of yellow and orange in autumn. Bright gray bark in winter.
Culture
Will tolerate a wide range of soils and growing conditions, from dry upland soils to moist well-drained bottomlands. Very adaptable. Full sun or part shade.
