Aronia arbutifolia (Red Chokeberry)
Habit
An upright shrub, Red Chokeberry forms colonies that grow to about 6-10 feet tall. Great for border plantings or massing together.
Color
Brilliant red fruit in the fall and typically persistent through the winter months. Leaves will also turn a colorful red in autumn that rival Burning Bush. In spring tiny white flowers will grace the long wispy branches for a beautiful effect.
Culture
Grows well in well-drained, moist, acidic soils. Does very well along streambanks or other moist places. Easy to transplant and forms colonies rapidly.
