Quercus muehlenbergii (Chinakpin Oak)
Habit: Chinkapin Oak is a large overstory tree that grows to about 40-50 feet tall. A great tree to use as a single specimen or in a naturalized plantings. Definitely an attractive tree that should be treasured if native in your landscape.
Color: Leaves turn shades of yellow and orange in autumn. Bright gray bark in winter.
Culture: Will tolerate a wide range of soils and growing conditions, from dry upland soils to moist well-drained bottomlands. Very adaptable. Full sun or part shade.
