Chionanthus virginicus (White Fringetree)
Habit: White Fringetree is a native understory small tree/large shrub growing about 12-20 feet in height. A wonderful plant for naturalizing or landscaping use. By far one of our more popular plants.
Color: One of those most spectacular native flowering shrubs. Plants even just a few years old will flower. Mature specimens will be absolutely covered in beautiful white fringe-like blooms during May and June. Single plantings or mass groupings can be stunning.
Culture: Prefers moist well drained soil but is very adaptable and fairly easy to transplant. Full sun to part shade. Very cold hardy to -30 degrees.
